In a young athlete’s life, there is always a goal that they strive to achieve. For 36 young baseball players that went through two days of rigorous tryouts and had to be hand-picked based on their ability, work ethic and attitude, that goal is to bring home a trophy at the end of our Rebels travel team season. We are comprised of 3 different teams (8U, 10U, and 12U) that travel locally on Sunday’s to compete in an elite League called the Pittsburgh Metro League.
A group of committed coaches got together last year and decided it was time to take our youth baseball program to the next level and decided to assemble three different teams at the last minute. We weren’t sure how we would fare with this being our first try at this and having no idea what our competition would be like. We are proud to say that 2 out of our 3 teams made it to the final championship game last year. Now our teams are hungry and working even harder. We are prepared this year and have been training each and every Sunday since November. It’s amazing how much dedication and commitment we see each week. Our trainings start at 7:00 AM every Sunday and we haven’t heard one player complain about the early start time and that says a lot.
We are writing to you today to humbly ask for your help making their dream possible. We will be spending in upwards of $17,000 this year to buy indoor practice time, equipment, league fees, baseballs, uniforms, etc, and we are trying to reduce the expense on each family as much as possible so that every player is afforded this great opportunity.
We encompass the Washington and Trinity area school districts and play anywhere from 12-16 games during the season. We play at our home fields at the Washington Park and throughout the community. As a sponsor, you will have your company name on our website (washingtonrebels.com), listed on our Facebook page and your name on a banner on each field listing you as a sponsor. We are not going to many businesses, so this is very exclusive.
All donations are tax deductible under the 501(c)(3) designation of Washington Youth Baseball. Checks can be made payable to “Washington Youth Baseball” and mailed to: Darin Smith, 1830 Donnan Avenue, Washington, PA 15301. Any questions can be submitted to Darin Smith at 724-350-4190.
We sincerely appreciate your consideration of this request and your support of these hard working and committed young men. Thank you for giving them the opportunity to make memories.
